What type of camera?

Microstock photography is a digital world. A digital slr not only costs more than a point and shoot camera, it also gives you much greater control when shooting your photographs. Todays digital slr's can capture virtually noiseless images which are a must when submitting to the microstock sites. If you are purchasing a new camera, the bare minimum we currently recommend is 6 megapixels. While many sites require the minimum image size to be the equivalent of two megapixels, they do charge higher prices for images with greater resolution. This directly translates into higher commissions. Point and shoot camera's can definitely capture images that are suitable as stock photographs, though as a rule they are not able to handle varied shooting conditions as easily.
